Trust, Privacy & Security

Not Quite British is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Home Office or any UK government body.

This page is maintained by the Not Quite British team to answer common questions about how the app handles your data. It is editable project content, not an independent certification.

What we collect

Not Quite British is a study tool for the Life in the UK citizenship test. You can use the AI tutor and take quizzes without creating an account.

If you choose to submit your email after a quiz, we store that email address along with your score so we can follow up with you. Email submission is entirely optional.

How your data is protected

Email submissions are stored in our managed backend with row-level security enabled. Submitted emails and scores are write-only from the public app: the form can add a record, but the data cannot be read, edited, or deleted through the public interface.

Connections to the app are encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

AI tutor

The AI tutor processes the messages you send in a study session to generate responses. Conversations are used to power the tutoring experience and are not sold to third parties.

Cookies & analytics

The app uses only what is necessary to function. We do not sell your personal data.

Your choices

You can use the study tool and quizzes without submitting any personal details. If you have submitted your email and would like it removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Shared responsibility

The underlying hosting and backend platform provides infrastructure security controls. The practices described above are maintained by the Not Quite British team. This page does not constitute a legal guarantee or an independent audit.
